It may be new legislation, but it’s a long-standing commitment. It’s what every parent and educator wants for our nation’s students. And now states and local districts have greater flexibility to meet the needs of their students through custom approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment.
Since 2010, the PARCC states have been leaders in developing assessments that measure students’ readiness to succeed in college and career. Thousands of educators have contributed to the design of innovative new test questions that measure students’ readiness to master rigorous academic content, think critically and apply knowledge to solve problems, and conduct research to develop and communicate a point of view. Rich assessments that foster deep learning and thinking in the classroom, and are accessible to all.
The PARCC Tests
Released Items & Materials
The states that make up the PARCC consortium have taken the exceptional step of releasing test items from current and recent year’s PARCC assessment to give teachers a powerful tool to inform and improve classroom teaching and learning. The test items were built with robust mathematics problems and authentic reading passages selected and reviewed extensively by dozens of educators from PARCC states.
The released materials includes scoring rubrics and guides to the scoring, as well as released item sets, answer keys, standards alignment, and sample student responses – scored and annotated. A significant number of these test questions and supporting instructional resources are now available here on the Partner Resource Center.
